Training and Data Usage

Last updated: March 2, 2026

1. Overview

Coloring Magic ("we," "us," or "the Service") uses third-party artificial-intelligence models to generate coloring-book images from your text prompts. This page explains how your prompts and generated images are processed, whether they are used for AI model training (they are not), and what controls you have over your data.

2. We Do Not Train on Your Data

We do not use your prompts, generated images, or any other user-submitted content to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any AI model — whether our own or a third party's. Your creative inputs and the outputs they produce are yours and are never incorporated into machine-learning training datasets by us.

3. How Your Content Is Processed

When you submit a prompt, the following occurs:

  • Prompt transmission. Your text prompt is sent to our third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI) via their API solely to generate the requested image.
  • Image generation. The AI provider processes the prompt and returns the generated image. Under our API agreement with OpenAI, inputs and outputs submitted through the API are not used to train or improve their models.
  • Storage. Your prompts and generated images are stored in our infrastructure (AWS S3 and DynamoDB) solely to deliver the Service to you — for example, so that you can view your coloring-book pages, compile them into PDFs, and access them across sessions.
  • No secondary use. We do not analyse, aggregate, or mine your prompts or images for product development, advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the Service and enforcing our policies.

4. Third-Party AI Provider

We currently use OpenAI's API to generate images. Our agreement with OpenAI includes the following relevant commitments:

  • API inputs and outputs are not used by OpenAI to train or improve their models.
  • Data submitted via the API is retained by OpenAI only for a limited period for abuse and misuse monitoring, after which it is deleted in accordance with their data-retention policies.

If we change our AI provider in the future, we will ensure that equivalent data-protection commitments are in place before any user data is processed by the new provider. Material changes will be reflected in an update to this page.

5. Content Moderation

We apply automated prompt filtering before your prompt is sent to the AI provider in order to enforce our Content Policy. This filtering checks your prompt against our prohibited-content categories. If a prompt is blocked, no data is sent to the AI provider for that request.

Additionally, the AI provider applies its own safety filters. In rare cases, flagged content may be reviewed by a member of our team to improve our content-moderation rules (not AI models). Any such review is limited to the minimum data necessary and is conducted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Opt-Out Controls

Because we do not use your data for AI training, there is no training-related opt-out to exercise. However, you have full control over your data:

  • Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data (prompts, images, PDFs, and metadata) at any time by contacting us at support@coloringmagic.art. We will process deletion requests in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
  • Individual pages. You can delete individual coloring-book pages or entire projects from within the editor at any time.
  • Analytics. You can opt out of non-essential analytics by declining cookies via our cookie consent banner. See our Cookie Policy for details.

7. Data Retention

We retain your prompts and generated images for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete a page, project, or your account, the associated data is removed from our active systems. Backup copies may persist for a limited period in accordance with our standard backup schedules, after which they are permanently deleted. For full retention details, see our Privacy Policy.

8. Legal Basis (GDPR)

The processing of your prompts and images to deliver the Service is based on the performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Content-moderation processing is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a safe platform and complying with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(f) and Article 6(1)(c) GDPR). At no point is your content processed on the legal basis of consent for AI-training purposes, because no such processing takes place.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this page from time to time. If we ever change our practices regarding the use of user data for model training — which we do not currently do and do not plan to do — we will provide prominent advance notice and, where required by law, obtain your explicit consent before any such change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

10. Contact
